Barbra and Ron first met on the stage of "Les Miserables" performing the young romantic leads of "Marius" and "Cosette". The story they often tell is that after being married on stage hundreds of times, they decided to do it for real!
Barbra performed the lead role of "Cosette" in "Les Miserables". Other theatrical credits include leads in "The Little Shop of Horrors", "Oklahoma", "Side by Side by Sondheim", "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" and her favorite "Louisa" in "The Fantastiks". In the studio she just completed her first CD entitled “Sweethearts” the songs made famous by Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy with her husband Ron. Barbra has performed many commercial voice-overs including: New Balance, Great Adventure, Channel Home Centers, Toyota, and Sea World. She has appeared on MTV and had has the pleasure of performing with stars ranging from Queen Latifa to Tony Bennet.
Ron is the first actor to have played both male leads of "Marius" and "Jean Valjean" in "Les Miserables" on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include original productions of "The Scarlet Pimpernel", "The Civil War", and with Sir Tim Rice and Alan Menken in Disney's "King David". One of his favorite roles was as "the stoker" Fred Barret in "Titanic" Ron's television credits include two appearances on "The Rosie O'Donnel Show", "The Tony Awards" on CBS, and at the "NBA All Star Game" in Madison Square Garden.
Together they have performed in every major city across the US and many around the world. Recent performances venues include: Resorts Atlantic City, The New York Athletic Club, The Belmont Stakes, NYC The Friars Club, in Dublin, Ireland at the National Concert Hall and in Singapore as a command performance for the President and the Prime Minister, and for President of the United States in White House in Washington D.C.
Barbra and Ron have moved behind the scenes and are the Executive Producers of the musical “A Tale of Two Cities” which appeared on Broadway and is now in playing in first class productions in Tokyo, Japan, Seoul, South Korea, and around the world. The served as the producers for the PBS special "A Tale of Two Cities in Concert" from London featuring narration by Michael York.
Ron recently reprised his role of Jean Valjean in the 25th anniversary production of Les Misérables which is back on Broadway, and was featured in the new production of "Sweeney Todd" at Live at Lincoln Center starring Emma Thompson which was filmed for PBS and won the Emmy Award.
The are the proud parents of four children who love to sing!
Samantha has been performing with parents across the US and around the world! Besides performing with her parents, she recently received an “Outstanding Musical Theater Award” in the role of Eponine in (" Les Miserables”), she performed the title role of Edwin Drood in the ("Mystery of Edwin Drood") performed as Jo March (“Little Women"), Natalie ("All Shook Up"), Maureen ("Rent'), Martha ("Secret Garden"), Sally ("Charlie Brown"), Julia ("The Wedding Singer"). Samantha recorded multiple solo's on a Sesame Street Album, as well as on the cast album of Broadways ("A Tale of Two Cities').
