Altar and Rosary Society

The purpose of the Altar and Rosary Society, established over 65 years ago, is to honor and praise the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Society evokes her patronage and derives its spiritual strength through the recitation of the Rosary at the start of their monthly meeting, and translates that strength into the following performed activities:

      • Laundering and purchase of altar linens and vestments used on the altar tables as well as those worn by the priests at the Liturgy
      • Sewing and preparation of baby bibs for infant’s baptism
      • Maintenance and replacement of altar candles
      • Visitation to ill members and remembrance with flowers, mass cards and words or encouragement along with masses for individual members
      • Christmas and Easter remembrances to the Parish and local charities
      • Two bakes sales in March and December each year

The Society meets the first Monday of each month in the Spiritual center, with the exception of July, August and December. The Society is not all work and no play. Members enjoy an annual Christmas party, a yearly day of recollection, and a spring potluck supper.
