Summer Academy

Announcements

Summer Academy will begin on Monday, July 22nd at 9:00 am. Parents are asked to join their children for an orientation at St. Paul School Gym. At that time we will open the program in prayer, introduce the Catechists, and discuss program expectations and requirements.

Each child will be given the opportunity to have a daily snack. We ask that you pack these keeping in mind that allergies may be an issue. Please avoid common allergens such as nuts. When packing a drink, please avoid sticky sugary drinks, that when spilled cause greater messes!

After the First Day, Drop off will occur at the building your child will be meeting in. 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade will meet in Saint Paul School. 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be in the Spiritual Center. Pick-up will occur at those buildings. However, Spiritual Center dismissal will occur at the School on Wednesday and Friday Afternoon (to avoid the Mass crowd).

Please also plan on attending the 12:10 pm Mass on August 2nd where we will conclude the program.

Program Expectations

Due to Diocesan Policies families participating in Summer Academy are required to attend (4) Four in Parish activities during the year. At the discretion of the Parish Office of Religious Education, families who fail to meet this requirement may be blocked from enrolling in this program in the future. (Please note 8th graders are not required to attend all 4 activities because they will be attending PURPOSE Confirmation) However, all students should attend the March 1st Family Life Session .

Family Catechesis Days

The Office of Religious Education will hold three Family Catechesis Days. These will meet on Sunday December 8, 2018, Sunday March 1, 2020 (this session will be extended to cover the requirement for the Family Life Program all students 1st-8th will be required to attend or opt-out officially) , and Sunday May 3, 2020. Attendance will be taken at each session.

Prayer and Liturgy Activities

You will notice that the Diocesan policy states (4) Four Parish Activities, and that there are only three Family Catechesis Days. This year each family will need to select (1) Prayer and Liturgy activity to complete the requirement.
