There will be no PREP on Sunday, January 19th for the Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday. Tuesday PREP will meet as scheduled on January 21.
Religious Education Announcements
Join us on Tuesday, Dec. 24 for our annual Christmas Eve Family Mass. At 3:30 pm our Parish Children's Choir will present a musical prelude followed by a Nativity play by our parish children. All children are welcome to participate. Children in Grade 2 and younger are welcome to come dressed as angels and shepherds, Grade 3 and up are welcomed as narrators and others roles. Our children in middle school will take preference for more specific roles. We are also looking for a baby to play Jesus! Rehearsal for children who are not angels or shepherds will be on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 5:30 pm in Church.

Saturday 10/12/2019 from 9:30 am– 11:30 am. Parents and children will pray together in Church. Children will be brought to their assigned classroom, and parents will begin their session in the St. Paul School Cafeteria. Topics will include the examination of conscience, instruction for going to confession, the act of contrition, the meaning of absolution, and the Confessionals will be open for inspection.
September 15th, Sunday Morning (8:40 AM- 9:45 AM) and Tuesday, September 17th (4:30 PM – 5:45 PM) Parish Religious Education Program classes will resume. Parents should plan on joining their children for the first session for orientation. We will introduce the catechists, and discuss important dates and expectations. This year we will celebrate the gift of life at our Birthday Blast Vacation Bible Camp. Do you have a child entering into First Grade? It's time to begin preparing for First Reconciliation and First Eucharist! You have a few options to get started. Children can attend Summer Academy (July 22nd-August 2nd Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 12:00 pm) Sunday Parish Religious Education Program (beginning September 15th 8:40- 9:45 am), Tuesday PREP (4:30- 5:45 pm) or Family Home Study. The parish also offers an optional kindergarten program! This program is offered on Sunday Mornings from 8:40- 9:45 am. This is a fun opportunity to become involved with Religious Education! Children will do crafts, say their prayers, and participate in fun lessons!
As part of our efforts to provide safe environments for children, and young people, and in conformity with diocesan policy all adults whose employment, volunteering or ministry involves regular contact with minors must submit to a criminal background check through fingerprint analysis as determined by the Diocese of Trenton and a VIRTUS Awareness Training Program. These sessions cover the scope and nature of child sexual abuse in addition to giving participants the five steps that caring adults can follow to protect children. Summer Academy will begin on Monday, July 22nd at 9:00 am. Parents are asked to join their children for an orientation at St. Paul School Gym. At that time we will open the program in prayer, introduce the Catechists, and discuss program expectations and requirements.
Each child will be given the opportunity to have a daily snack. We ask that you pack these keeping in mind that allergies may be an issue. Please avoid common allergens such as nuts. When packing a drink, please avoid sticky sugary drinks, that when spilled cause greater messes!
After the First Day, Drop off will occur at the building your child will be meeting in. 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade will meet in Saint Paul School. 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be in the Spiritual Center. Pick-up will occur at those buildings. However, Spiritual Center dismissal will occur at the School on Wednesday and Friday Afternoon (to avoid the Mass crowd).
Please also plan on attending the 12:10 pm Mass on August 2nd where we will conclude the program.
This is a reminder that there will be no Sunday PREP on Mothers' Day, May 12, 2019. Have a wonderful weekend with your family, and we will see you back on May 19th for our final session.

Students registered for Sunday PREP and Stuart Country Day School, as well as some Family Home Study Families will celebrate First Eucharist at 9:30 am. Children in Hispanic PREP will celebrate at 11:30 am. You should arrive in the Spiritual Center no later than 15 minutes early to line up for your celebration!
Children preparing for the sacrament at St. Paul School will celebrate at 9:30 am. Children preparing in Sunday PREP, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, and some Family Home Study students will celebrate at 11:30 am. Please arrive at the Spiritual Center at least 15 minutes early to line up.
There will be no Sunday PREP on Sunday, February 17th. Classes will resume Sunday, February 24th. Have a great weekend and we'll see you at Mass.

Summer Academy for the 2019-2020 Parish Religious Education Program year will be held 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Monday through Friday, July 22nd to August 2nd. This program covers a year's catechesis requirements over 30 hours in a two week period, and also provides many liturgical and spiritual opportunities unique to this program.
Registration will open in March.
Save the date. St. Paul Parish will host our annual VBC from Monday, July 8th-Friday, July 12th from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. All children from 3 1/2-8 years old are welcome to participate as campers, and teens are welcome as volunteers. This year's theme will be Birthday Blast: A Celebration of Life. This year registration will be $55 per child, each family will be provided with the Bible Camp Audio CD on the last day. In observance of the Rev. Dr. MLK Jr. holiday, there will be no Sunday Prep on January 20, 2019. We look forward to seeing you at Mass this weekend, and classes will resume January 27, 2019.
The First Reconciliation Retreat is this Saturday, October 13 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. Children preparing for Reconciliation are expected to attend with one parent/guardian. We will begin the day in prayer as we gather in the Church, and then children and parents will break into their own sessions. The purpose of the day is to provide children an opportunity to become more comfortable with the sacrament of reconciliation. Parents will have their own opportunity for reflection and conversation on preparing their children for this sacrament.
A Session will be held Saturday, October 6th from 10:00 am-12:30 pm in St. Paul School Library
Safe Environments Training for Catechists, Volunteers, and Concerned Parents. Learn to identify risk, and properly respond when there is an appearance of child abuse. Room is limited, and these sessions tend to fill up quickly. To register please visit virtusonline.org. Sunday and Tuesday PREP will begin on September 16th (8:40 am- 9:45 am) and on September 18th (4:30-5:45 pm). We ask that parents plan to be available for their child's first session, as we will introduce our catechists, and share important information about the year to come, and what is expected.
Summer Academy begins on Monday, July 23 at 9:00 am.
On the first day, Monday, July 23, parents are asked to bring their child(ren) to the School Gym. We will begin our day with prayer and a brief orientation. Children will meet and be dismissed from the gym with their catechist to their meeting place. Parents/Guardians are asked to remain in the gym until 9:30 am for orientation.
For the remaining days of Summer Academy, children in Grades 1, 3 and 4 are to be dropped off at the parish school. Children in Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 grades are to be dropped off at the Spiritual Center. Students will be picked up from the building that they have classes. However, on Wednesdays and Fridays, we ask that all children be picked up at the school, due to the 12:10 pm Mass.
Please be attentive and courteous while operating your vehicle in the parish parking lot as you drop-off and pick-up your child(ren).
Children will be given a daily snack break. We ask that you pack them something for each day. Please avoid sticky drinks, and plan on sending water.
Because this is an intensive program there is an expectation that the children will be in attendance every day and on time. If there is an emergency please contact the Office of Religious Education to make arrangements.
During the two-week program, all of our children will be participating in singing lessons with the director of our children's choir. Families are invited to join us on Friday, August 3, as we conclude Summer Academy at 12:10 pm Mass. Children will be dismissed from the church at approximately 1:00 pm. The children will be participating in this liturgy and singing the songs that they have learned.
The Parish Children's Choir is welcoming new members for the 2018-2019 year. The choir consists of 50-60 boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 and meets in our church choir loft to rehearse every Monday night from 5:45 to 7:00 pm. The choir sings monthly for the 10:00 am Masses and also serves the parish by singing for other Masses and events as called upon. If you can't make it to every single rehearsal and every single Mass, that's ok. We understand homework, various obligations that arise, and visits to Grandma's!
